A delegation of the EU project “Improving Criminal Justice in Kazakhstan” visited the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On February 9 of the current year a delegation of the EU project “Improving Criminal Justice in Kazakhstan” " (hereinafter - the EU project), composed of international experts Tom Patterson and Bunafsha Gulakova visited the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the Academy of Justice).

Ms. Gulakova noted that the purpose of her visit to Kazakhstan is to monitor the interim results of the project and this visit will enable to assess at what stage is the implementation of the project. The assessment methodology consists of criteria such as relevance of the objectives, the efficiency of the project to date and the sustainability of results after the project. Also, Ms. Gulakova asked a number of questions concerning the training courses for judges and judicial officials, including interest and the possibility of the Academy of Justice to include in the curriculum the courses that will be conducted by experts and the modules developed by international experts of the EU project.

In conclusion, Mr. Patterson assured that preparations for the upcoming 4-day course that will be conducted by international experts of the EU project in March 2017 to the faculty of the Academy of Justice follows the plan and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation.
